Leaf float
The leaf float was designed to act as a natural carrier of baits;
in making this item it gave concern for a knot that is so widely used, I'm sure that the nail knot would never be used if every knot was tested on each fly line before using them...

One day at Dearnford Hall Trout Fly Fishery I had stood my rod against the wing mirror of my car when a gust of wind blew it into the slamming door. Luckily the fishery had spare rods and they kindly let me use one to carry on fishing.
I later thought that if that had happened when I was miles from nowhere I would not have been able to carry on fishing. This design was used on my broken rod and although the test was a success I prefer to take extra rods than waste good fishing time. I do however have the kit at home for future reference; and who knows one day it may be part of an Anglers essentials...
